Kaine Kulczak Biography
Kulczak, born in 1976, realised very early on in
his life that his drawing skills were superior to
his contemporaries. Album covers by artists like
Roger Dean became his earliest influence, using
felt tips and cheap pencils that he was given.
This understanding of graphic art and design
developed until, at the age of 13, like many of
his lesser skilled friends, he had stopped
drawing on paper and started drawing on walls!
With a disappointing GCSE grade in Art and a shabby portfolio, Kulczak scraped into Peterborough Regional College on their Graphic and Interior Design Course. With rather low expectations, he nonetheless passed with a Distinction and left full time education.
On leaving College he got a job designing and making posters for a book shop, which he did for six years. In a moment of frustration, and probably rebellion, he resigned as a Graphic Designer & took a job as a Data Analyst. He then bought a house, got married, became a father and a 'nine to fiver'.
Several years on, the compulsion to design, to create, to paint is persistent and Kulczak has been working on his portfolio for over a year now. We took a selection of work from his extraordinary portfolio to the Anglian Contemporary Art Fair in July 2006 which caused an enormous reaction in those visitors that came to our stand and we expect a similar level of interest at The Great Art Christmas Fair at Alexandra Palace later this year when we feature his work on our stand.
His large painting 'Pappy' brought Kulczak his first competition success in 2006, selected as a finalist in the 'Liberte D'Expression Underground World Of Art Competition', sponsored by Barclays Bank plc and culminating in exhibitions at Canary Wharf and at Candid Arts Trust Galleries in Islington during November.
Kulczak was recently invited by a US publisher to take part in an unusual project that promoted the 'The Pat Robertson And Friends Colouring Book'.
